Becky Hultberg leads the State of Alaska’s Department of Administration, a diverse agency of ten divisions and five independent boards and commissions that provides both support services to state government and direct services for Alaskans. Areas under her oversight include the divisions of Retirement and Benefits, Finance, Enterprise Technology Services, General Services and Personnel & Labor Relations, among others.
Hultberg was appointed to serve as Commissioner of the Department of Administration by Governor Sean Parnell in December 2010. Prior to her current position, Hultberg served as the regional director of communications and marketing for Providence Health & Services Alaska, the state’s largest private sector employer. Her past positions include serving as vice president of public relations and strategy for Bradley Reid & Associates and as policy advisor and press secretary in the office of Governor Frank H. Murkowski.
Hultberg holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Abilene Christian University, in Abilene, Texas, with minors in economics and public service.
A lifelong Alaskan, Hultberg lives in Juneau with her husband and three children.
