Due to weather and road conditions in the Seward area, the Governor’s Office has directed the following schedule for State offices in the area, effective immediately:
There will be a early dismissal for Seward area employees beginning at 2:00 pm at the discretion of supervisors, with deference given to those who have the farthest to travel. State offices not involved in protecting the health and safety of Alaskans (certain offices of the Departments of Public Safety, Corrections, and the Alaska Pioneer Homes and the Alaska Psychiatric Institute) will be closed at regular hours.
Please use extreme caution while driving. While some roads may be in fair condition, less traveled streets may be extremely slippery.
Updates will be posted at http://www.alaska.gov/ and http://doa.alaska.gov/. Any announcements will also be available at the State Office Closure notification line, statewide toll-free at 1-877-326-5551.
