Training

APOC provides training on Campaign/Candidate, Group, Public Official Financial Disclosure, Legislative Financial Disclosure, and Lobbying ethics and reporting.  For details regarding training required for lobbying in Alaska, please see Lobbying Ethics Training page.

Below are a list of in person/webinar trainings on various topics.

Facilitator-Lead Classes

All classes may be attended in person at our Anchorage office or remotely via webinar.

Dates are listed below for each scheduled class.

Classes are scheduled from Noon to 2:00 PM, unless otherwise indicated below.

Candidate & Campaign Training

2012 State Candidate Campaign Wrap Up *:Self-Training

This training will provide guidance and assistance to candidates and treasurers who participated in the 2012 State Primary and General Elections, specifically focusing on disbursing leftover funds and assets, and filing final reports to close out the campaign.

2013 Anchorage Municipal Candidate Training: TBD

This training is for candidates and treasurers who will be participating in the 2013 Anchorage Municipal Election. The training will provide guidance regarding initial filing requirements, campaign basics, and electronic filing.

2013 Anchorage Municipal Candidate Training *:TBD

This training will provide guidance and assistance to candidates and treasurers who will be participating in the 2013 Anchorage Municipal Election, specifically focusing on electronic filing and 30 Day Campaign Disclosure Reports.

Candidate 101Self-Training

A basic training for candidates and their campaign members, covering how to start, contributions, expenditures, and common mistakes.

*APOC’s trainings are open to the public.  If you are unable to attend but wish to participate in a training, please contact staff as there may be other opportunities for you!

Group Training

A basic training for groups and their officers, covering electronic filing, how to start, contributions, expenditures, Independent expenditures, paid for by’s and common mistakes.

Follow-the-Money (Search)

A training to help people search APOC reports to understand who is contributing and what campaign money is being spent on.
